Paul Jerome Solon, AIA, has worked on world class interior design, architecture and planning project utilizing leading edge computer technologies. As principal he has honed his skills over 20 years in a wide range of project types with integral knowledge of all phases from design to construction.
S~d creates unique and “one-off” architectural projects that are aesthetically pleasing and functionally profitable. I am principal and owner. I design both traditional and modern building and interiors utilizing computer visualization. The scale of S~d’s projects greatly vary from furniture design and simple rational residential to hi-rise mixed use project and urban planning studies.
B+S created hi end projects. My responsibilities as partner covered all phases of project execution from marketing, contract /bid negotiation, design, construction documents to construction administration. These projects required interior design (millwork), zoning, code permit and historical board of review presentations. I was responsible for coordinating all consultants mechanical, electrical and plumbing including food and lighting.
ECD specializes in 3D modeling for Architecture Firms. I have collaborated with Architects on project from conceptual design through design development. I routinely provide "fast track" design to construction documentation services for firms requiring hi-quality assistance.
Sales and Technical Support for Architrion II a 3D CAD program specifically developed for Architecture. Duties require an analysis of prospective firms operation, from design to construction, for potential installation and training. Performed as exhibitor and speaker at AEC East, FOSE, AIA conventions. Presentations to academic accounts Pennsylvania State University, Virginia Polytech University, University of Florida and Carnigie Melon University.
Freelance support in production millwork for large high end retail department stores. Trained on Architrion and coordinated implementation of the CAD software from design visualization to full contract documents for department stores.
As a Lead Project Designer, I am responsible for the determination of project character, philosophical direction and architectural design. Drawing upon experience in a wide range of public and private building prototypes, my focus is the creative integration of objective project elements such as program, site, structure and systems, coupled with the interpretation of subjective components such as goals, aspirations and intent.Beginning with a comprehensive analysis phase, I look for physical solutions in the elements unique to each individual project. Utilizing a participatory process to identify these elements that involve the client and user groups, solutions grow from such diverse influences as regional context, history and culture, site context and architectural precedent. By developing a language based upon significant project parameters, the resulting design gains unique meaning and expression.Supervising all steps of design I manage different teams, so I am deeply committed to helping the junior staff develop their ideas and talents and their confidence in communicating those ideas and talents.
